Can I copy the Interactive Audio Files to a CD, MP3 Player or iPod?
Yes! The Prolanguages Online courses include an MP3 Interactive Audio Course (IAC). The IAC can be downloaded to your computer, and from there can either be burned to a CD using your computer’s CD burning software, or they can be copied to an MP3 player or iPod. You will need to have Windows Media Player or iTunes installed on your computer in order to download and play the IAC.
Please note that theProlanguages Online courses can only be burned or copied for your own personal and private use as per the Terms and Conditions. |

The files are too large for me to download.
We have made the files as small as we possibly can without jeopardizing sound quality. The smaller we make the files the worse the sound quality! Hopefully most people these days won't have an issue with file size! However, if you have a very slow dial-up connection or an unstable connection then you may experience problems. |

I get an error message "Unexpected error - please check file access permissions"
Please switch off any anti-virus programs and re-download the file. This should fix the problem. If this doesn't fix it, check the size of the downloaded file and see if you have the complete file. The file size is written next to the download link for each file.
Also Internet Explorer can, with a slow or dial-up connection, decide that a download is complete if the rate of the download falls to zero and halt the download. |

I get an error message "Not a valid WIN32 application"
This can occur when the file is cut off during the download process. Certain ISP users may experience this issue, as the connections may prevent downloading a large file. Compare the size of the downloaded file to the size that it should be for a full download. The file size is written next to the download link for each file.
If the size of the file that was downloaded is less than the size listed, then the entire file has not been downloaded. Anti-virus software, pop-up blockers, and firewall's can also prevent a file from being fully downloaded. To resolve this issue, close all other open applications and re-download the file using an Internet browser. |

Why do I get a blank page in my browser?
If you have selected to download a file and you receive a blank page with a "Done" message at the bottom of the browser, then this is because you do not have enough space in your temporary internet file folder to complete the download.
The solution is to clear your temporary internet folder:
With Internet Explorer: Select Tools> Internet Options> Temporary Internet Files> select Delete Files
With Netscape: Select Edit> Preferences> Under Category on the left Advanced> Cache> click Clear Memory Cache
If this doesn't resolve the issue then please send the team an email using the "Suggestions and Feedback" link on the Help menu. |

Why should I use a download manager?
A download manager will ensure that you download the installer file completely; if the file is not fully downloaded then it will not work properly. Due to the large file size of many of the ProLanguage files it is recommended that you use a download manager to download the ProLanguage installers. There are plenty of FREE ones available; I would recommend either www.stardownloader.com, (as it has good instructions!) or another popular download manager, www.getright.com. Clicking on either of these links will open a new window. |
